There's no such thing as a stupid question... here, at least.

These are the most frequently asked questions we have received about our Yellowfin Certified Professional program.

Question: How long does it take to earn a Yellowfin certification?

Answer: This is not a simple question to answer, but I will try to break it down into pieces that make sense.

Depending on your knowledge and skill, of course, you will need to determine the appropriate amount of study (and possibly attending training) as you prepare.

We have Self-Assessments that you can take to evaluate your readiness for the certification exams here.

As far as the actual certification testing — you are only allowed 90 minutes to complete the written exam. In the practical assessment, you are allowed

up to 3 hours to complete all the exercises. You can learn more about certification testing in the Technical Certification Guides here.

Question: What is the cost of a Yellowfin certification?

Answer: The short answer is $295 USD, however, there are retake fees if you fail an exam. For example, if you fail a written exam, the retake fee is $95 USD.

Question: How many times can I retake a certification exam if I fail?

Answer: You are only allowed 1 retake within 30 days of failing a written exam or practical assessment. We want to make sure you give yourself adequate time

to study before attempting the exam again. We have not yet found it necessary to set a limit on how many times a person may retake the exams.

Question: Is there certification training available to me?

Answer: I have a couple of ways to answer this question. First of all, the certifications are based on the content found in our Yellowfin University 

Technical Training Courses found here. Unless you are very experienced in Yellowfin, you should definitely take the time to go through all the

exercises in those courses.

You may also choose to attend paid training as you prepare to certify. The Yellowfin Accelerated Training is an instructor-led virtual course combining

the certification content with hands-on exercises. Students benefit from Q&A sessions as the instructor reviews each exercise. To learn more about

Question: For how long is my Yellowfin certification valid?
